Welcome to Dresden

House in Dresden Neustadt

More than just a baroque city

The Semper Opera House, the Zwinger and the Frauenkirche are everything that Dresden has to offer? We assure you that Dresden is much more than just a baroque city and has something to offer for everyone.

The Dresdner Neustadt is the scene quarter par excellence. Here students, artists, young families and old-established ones live door to door in harmony. In small winding alleys, pubs line up next to pubs and discotheques, parks as well as concert halls invite you to meet friends.

If you rather prefer a quiet and natural environment, you will feel at home in the Dresdener Heide, a large forest area on the outskirts of the city, or in the neighbouring Saxon Switzerland – hiking, climbing or walking with an indescribable view of the Elbe valley.

Dresden is also the proud location of an elite university and is home to over 45,000 students from all over the world. Dresden has become a major research and development location and is home to a booming industry. The metropolitan area is therefore also called the German Silicon Valley and calls itself Silicon Saxony. So Dresden offers a variety of professional development opportunities as well as fascinating leisure activities for every character.
